The missing link: a hitch to pull with.

    By Dan Caywood | June 12, 2008

finally… the last piece of the puzzle. The hitch to pull the house with :)

Not really knowing what we needed, i asked the dealer what I should buy..Here is the direct quote from the dealer at Suncoast RV ” you need one like that right there”., as he points to some contraption, I Swear to god that’s what he said.. I can’t make this stuff up.

So off I went looking for “that one right there”. After countless Google searching and numerous phone calls to “hitch experts”, I finally have made the purchase.

    A Hitch

Since I had to buy a truck with a short bed, as opposed to the long bed, I had to now have a “special hitch” in order to not crush the cab of the truck.. Again , I can’t make this stuff up. watch the video before you read on.

    Now that SUCKS…

So now I was on a hunt for a hitch that wouldn’t take out my back window. By the way the dealer said “for that one right there, you’re looking at $1300.”

Apparently I needed a hitch with sliders for my short bed.

Here is what we ended up buying. A resse 15k hitch..Found it on online for $495.00 with FREE shipping..WOW. Now we just need to have it installed. I have prices for $225 so far. I’m still working that down. If I do pay the $225, than I would have saved $580 bucks ..not bad

Stay tuned to see what the final cost is.

Here is the link to where I found the hitch at such a discount..I love this site.

yeah, who would have thought picking up a hitch would be so difficult. We are towing a 32′ travel trailer with a 04 silverado shortbox, and the hitch was the most difficult part. We got a reese as well the DAY BEFORE our departure. Good luck with the venture.
